šŸ†Preparing for Excellence: FUSE Next Pre-Launch Checklist

We are thrilled to help you launch FUSE Next! To ensure your members have the most seamless, intuitive content discovery experience possible, we recommend performing a final walkthrough using this guide.

Think of this as a "test drive" to ensure every response, summary, and filter is tuned to your organization's unique voice.

šŸ›   Embed & Style Check

Before you begin testing content, you must ensure the FUSE Next interface is correctly integrated into your host site. Please refer to this KB Article for detailed instructions.

šŸ–±ļøThe Embed Code Install

Your FUSE Next Success Manager has provided a unique embed snippet which contains two elements: a <div> and a <script>. The latter should be placed within the <body> of your target search page, while the former should be placed after all other script tags, in the end of the <head> or <body> elements, depending on your implementation goals

  • Verify Placement: Ensure the code is not wrapped in "lazy-load" containers that might delay the FUSE user interface from appearing..
  • If the FUSE Next user interface isn’t rendering it may be that your website is blocking FUSE traffic and you may need to contact your IT team to allowlist FUSE’s IP range per the specifications you’ll find here.

āž”ļø Pro Tip: Check that you don’t have the FUSE Next embed code added twice to the same page. This will cause a conflict. You can, however, have two different FUSE embeds on the same page!

šŸŽØ Watching for CSS Conflicts

  • Font Overrides: Ensure your site's global CSS isn't forcing odd sizes or colors into your FUSE interface(s).
  • Button & Input Clashes: Check that your site’s default button styles aren't overlapping with FUSE’s UI elements (e.g., search icons disappearing or text becoming invisible).
  • Spacing & Padding: Look for "layout shifts." If the search bar looks squashed or off-center, a CSS rule from your header/footer may be interfering with the FUSE container.

šŸ”ŽThe "Search & Discover" Walkthrough

The heart of FUSE Next is its ability to find exactly what a member needs, regardless of where that content lives.

  • Try 5 Key Terms: ask about the five most popular topics in your industry. Are the responses what a member [or what you] would expect to see?
  • The "Deep Dive": Look for a specific phrase found inside a PDF or a video transcript. FUSE Next is designed to find "hidden" content—make sure it’s digging deep!
  • If you encounter an inaccurate or suboptimal response during testing, first verify that the necessary source information exists within the content FUSE is ingesting. Experience shows that unexpected outputs are frequently the result of missing or incomplete source documentation rather than a system error.
  • AI Insights: Review natural language outputs for factual accuracy and detail. If results are suboptimal, confirm the presence of supporting information within the FUSE Next ingestion stream. Report persistent discrepancies—where source content is present but the AI response is lacking—directly to FUSE Next Support.
  • Smart Matches: Verify that AI-recommended content is contextually accurate. Flag any recommendations that are not "true matches" and suggest existing content items that should have been prioritized instead to improve system precision.
  • Check the AI Summaries: Activate the AI Summaries switch to review the auto-generated descriptions of your latest assets. Verify that the outputs are brief, professional in tone, and provide meaningful value to the end user.
  • AI Recap: Launch the AI Recap to summarize the past week’s updates; note that results will only appear if new data has been processed, and your content is using a date field.  Use filters and keywords to test specific topics. Assess the accuracy of the output and the suitability of the seven-day reporting interval.
  • Query Subscribe (If Applicable): After configuring desired user parameters and filters, initiate a subscription. Review the resulting confirmation email for accuracy in the subject and message body. Ensure the embedded link successfully redirects to the intended page while maintaining the applied filter logic. To complete the audit, contact FUSE Next Support to trigger a manual 'New Content' alert, then verify the template formatting and the functionality of the 'Unsubscribe' link

šŸ¤Testing the Member Experience

FUSE Next should feel like a natural extension of your existing website.

  • Mobile Check: Open your FUSE  Next  instance on your mobile device. Are the filters easy to select ? Is the text legible without zooming?
  • Permissions Check: Log in as a "Test Member" and then as a "Guest." Ensure that gated content (like exclusive webinars or member-only docs) remains appropriately hidden from non-members and special considerations (like locks, blurred responses) are displayed next to content that only members would be able to access according to your use case.
  • The "Nothing Found" Experience: look for something non-existent (like "xyz123"). Is the message friendly? Does it provide a clear path for the user to try a different query?

šŸ“ˆ Refining Your Filters (Facets)

Filters are the "GPS" for your content. Let's make sure the map is accurate.

  • Source Labels: Are your content sources labeled clearly? (e.g., "Annual Conference" vs. "Professional Development").
  • Available Filters: Evaluate the existing filters to confirm they still support your users' content discovery goals. These settings often carry over from onboarding, but it is best practice to ensure they remain accurate. If the current interface lacks essential filtering options, please document these requirements for further configuration
  • Date Sorting: While FUSE Next defaults to relevance-based retrieval, you should validate date-sorting functionality if it is active in your embed. Ensure that the 'Newest' and 'Oldest' filters accurately reorder your assets. This is also an ideal time to audit your legacy content: assess whether your oldest indexed items remain relevant or if your results should be narrowed to prioritize core reference materials.

šŸš€ Launch Day Readiness Checklist

Before we flip the switch, check off these final three items:

  1. [ ] Brand Alignment: Do the colors and logos and styles match your current branding?
  2. [ ] Link Integrity: click a handful of links. Do they lead directly to the correct page?
  3. [ ] Internal Awareness: Has your internal team seen the new interface so they can assist users as required on day one?
  4. [ ] Verify Google Analytics Integration: Please confirm that you have provided your Google Analytics (GA) ID in the settings and verify that data is actively populating in your GA dashboard.
